Design children’s services for the future, strengthen community connections, and lead staff forward at the Appleton Public Library, a thriving and busy urban library. We are seeking a Section Supervisor for our Children’s Services section to join our leadership team.
This position is responsible for supervision of the Children’s Section, including providing readers advisory, public access Internet, electronic services, children's print and non-print materials and programming to children, parents and caregivers, educators and agencies. The work involves supervising and scheduling staff (such as Librarians and related paraprofessional and clerical staff), planning and monitoring the work in their assigned service area, finding collaborative partners within the community and providing programs. Some evenings and weekends are required. Regular attendance is required.
This position requires at least two years experience in professional library work, including strong experience in serving children, proficiency in current technologies and a master's degree in Library Science, or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Fluency in the Spanish or Hmong languages is a plus.
