POSITION: Information Commons & Acquisitions Coordinator
CLASSIFICATION: Support Staff – Full-Time
REPORTS TO: Public/Technical Services Librarian and Teaching & Learning Librarian

DESCRIPTION:
Supervise a team of student workers in the Information Commons and Library Classroom. Responsible for Acquisitions tasks such as book purchasing and copy cataloging. Serve as liaison for technology and equipment work orders. Participate in research assistance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Information Commons and Library Classroom: Under the direction of the Teaching & Learning Librarian, maintain the physical space, schedule, and policies and procedures.

- Acquisitions: Under the direction of the Public/Technical Services Librarian, purchase books and other library materials, monitor the Acquisitions budget, perform copy cataloging of library materials, and maintain the book leasing program.

- Student Workers: Hire, train, and supervise student workers for the Information Commons and Library Classroom to ensure smooth operation of library services. Prepare work schedules, create student worker policies and procedures, assign projects/tasks, monitor and approve student timecards, review student performance, and facilitate teamwork.

- Technology/Equipment Liaison: Troubleshoot technology issues and submit work orders for Information Commons and Library Classroom technology, printers, and copier/scanner.

- Participate in research assistance shifts as needed.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of related library experience preferred.
- Experience in an academic library preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Accounting knowledge preferred.

Technology Skills:
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Google Drive, computers, and related computer skills.
- Working knowledge of Library of Congress classification preferred.
- Knowledge of Innovative Interfaces Sierra preferred.

Human Relations Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently as required.

Other Requirements:
- Shift changes and/or weekend work may be required by your supervisor based on departmental and University needs.
- Candidates must be willing and able to support and advance the University mission.
