Director – Fall Creek Public Library
The Fall Creek Public Library is seeking a well-organized, energetic leader to oversee library operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to guide the library through its transition to a new, state-of-the-art facility in 2026. Fall Creek Public Library is a member of the IFLS Library System and the MORE consortium, serving a municipal population of approximately 1,400 residents.
Responsibilities
The Library Director reports to a seven-member Board of Trustees and is responsible for the overall administration and management of the library. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining the library collection, managing the library budget, supervising staff and volunteers, overseeing the building project and capital campaign, and promoting the library within the Village of Fall Creek and the surrounding area. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include completion of at least 54 semester credits, with a minimum of 27 credits in the liberal arts and sciences, qualifying candidates for a temporary Wisconsin Grade III public library director certification. A bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred, along with three or more years of library or related experience.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a strong understanding of library technology, and the ability to build and sustain positive working relationships with the public, library staff, the Library Board, government officials, community organizations, and area libraries.
Compensation
This position is up to 29 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours in the future. The starting hourly wage ranges from $20.00 to $24.00, depending on education and experience, and includes pro-rated benefits and a stipend.
