The Board of Directors of the Lodi Women’s Club Library in Lodi, WI, is seeking dynamic and enthusiastic individuals, with a deep commitment to public service, and a vision for what small town libraries can be in their communities, for the position of Library Director.

The Lodi Women’s Club Public Library is a member of the South Central Library System (SCLS), with a staff of 4 FTE, and an operating budget of $275,000. Like libraries around the country, it is a hub of lifelong learning and access to resources, in particular technology, that are not available to many of our community members. And it is a sacred place where young and old alike discover the world through reading.

Founded in 1900 by the Lodi Women’s Club, the broader Lodi community has benefited from its growing collections and resources for over a century. In 2016, total circulation topped 82,000, and each year there are many outreach programs for toddlers, seniors, and all ages in between.

Lodi is a community of just over 3,000 people, nestled in a valley about 25 miles north west of Madison. Incorporated in 1841, the city embraces its historic past, as evidenced by the original store fronts on Main Street, as well as many vintage home throughout the city. We are just a few miles from Lake Wisconsin and the Wisconsin River, and we also enjoy easy access to many biking, hiking, and snowmobile trails (including many segments of the Ice Age Trail).

Requirements for the position includes:
  1. Bachelor’s degree, ideally in the liberal arts;
  2. Master’s in Library Science or related field preferred;
  3. Maintenance of required Certification through continuing coursework and/or qualifying education; and
  4. Three-to-five years of public library exp
erience, ideally with increasing responsibility.
