Do you enjoy working with children and serving the public? Are you cheerful, positive, and enthusiastic while also a focused, organized multi-tasker? Do you have a love for children’s literature, or want to learn about it? Are you seeking part-time work in a professional position that could lead to a lifetime career in librarianship?

The Genoa City Public Library is currently accepting applications for a dynamic and community minded individual to join our friendly staff as a Youth Services Librarian! The emphasis of this position will be on coordinating services and programming for our youth. This would include weekly preschool storytimes, school visits and the summer reading program, to name a few. This position would also consist of learning all aspects of working in a small library and assisting the director in an administrative type position.

Qualified candidates must have excellent customer service skills, enjoy being around children and teens and have experience working with and developing children’s programs.

This is a part-time job with approximately 16 hours a week but could be more with the right applicant, starting pay rate of $12.50 an hour and would include one evening a week and an occasional Saturday.

The Genoa City Public Library is located just 10 miles south of Lake Geneva in Walworth County. We are a member of the Lakeshores Library System and the SHARE Consortium.
