The Fond du Lac Public Library is seeking a dynamic leader for its Youth Services Coordinator position.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and teens, is well-versed in readers’ advisory for children, cultivates strong community partnerships, thrives on constant change and continuous improvement, embraces new technologies, and appreciates fun-loving co-workers.

Under the general direction of the Library Director, with wide latitude for independent judgment and decision-making, the Youth Services Coordinator is responsible for the organization, planning, development and operation of children’s services, including collection development and library programming for children and teens. Coordinators serve on the library’s management team, collaborating with the director, assistant director and fellow library coordinators to fulfill the library’s mission.


Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supervising and coaching Youth Services staff (3.5 FTE),
  • Managing the physical and digital collection of materials for children in all formats,
  • Administering and developing programming for children, and
  • Playing a key role in the management team.
  • The Library’s makerspace, the Idea Studio, offers a test kitchen, recording studio, woodworking shop, 3-D printers, sewing machines and various other equipment for public use.

The Youth Services department enjoys a $90,000 annual budget for materials plus $10,000+ per year for youth programming. In addition to traditional library materials, the library circulates teacher kits, computer projectors, guitar effect pedals, cake pans, and outdoor games.
