Due to the departure of the previous Director, library staff are looking forward to attracting someone with a new perspective to lead our team! The Director job is comprised of 50% director duties and 50% professional librarian duties, including the coordination of Access Services functions.
The library is known on campus for its strong liaison program for students and faculty (“MyLibrarian”) and also for the incorporation of information literacy into the general education curriculum.
In the past few years, library projects have included: remodeling the Library Classroom to a flexible learning environment, social events like therapy dogs and “welcome week,” 3D printing, and a space/user preference assessment.
The library staff consists of 5 professional librarians (including the Director), 3 support staff members, 5 part-time evening/weekend staff, and approximately 50 student workers. Each of the professional librarians report to the Director, as does the Circulation Manager and Library Business Manager positions.
Carroll University has approximately 3,300 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. In recent years, the university has developed an emphasis in health sciences and life sciences programs, but maintains a strong grounding in the liberal arts. |
