The North Shore Library is currently looking to fill the following position:
Title: Youth Services Associate
Wage: $15.10
Hours: Part-time – 18 hours/week. Hourly.

Description: The North Shore Library is looking for a self-motivated, flexible, and forward-thinking professional with a passion for service to join our Youth Services team. This position works under the supervision of the Head of Youth Services. Main duties include providing reference and reader’s advisory services to patrons of all ages, instructing patrons in the use of electronic and print resources, assisting with the planning and implementing of family programs, and organizing and maintaining children’s collections.
This position is 18 hours per week and includes evening and weekend hours, with an increase of scheduled hours between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Flexibility in scheduling is occasionally needed for program coverage. Most hours are at the children’s reference desk, with occasional hours at the adult reference desk. Prior experience working with children or in a Library’s Youth Services department is preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred.
