UWM Libraries seek a Library Services Assistant-Advanced to provide high-quality services to students, faculty, staff and community members at the UWM at Washington County Library. The primary responsibilities of the position include circulation services, interlibrary loan, materials purchasing and processing, and managing library resources. Other responsibilities include providing research assistance to users, troubleshooting problems at the information desk, overseeing all aspects of student employment, and performing other public and technical service duties. This position requires expertise in relating and interpreting library policies, practices, and procedures to faculty, staff, students, and community users. The work performed requires extensive knowledge of and experience with library practices and procedures, in addition to a significant degree of decision-making and problem-solving ability.

The position is 100% during the academic year (September through May) and 50% during the summer. Normal schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, during the academic year. Hours may vary during break periods and over the summer. The position supports the campus mission of student success, research excellence, community engagement. The position reports to the academic librarian.

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Library customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Experience working in an academic library
• Experience with Alma (ExLibris) Library Management System
• Experience working with Microsoft Office programs
