As Wisconsin’s only public urban research university, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has established an international reputation for excellence in research, community engagement, teaching and entrepreneurism. Designated an R1 research institution, UWM educates more than 26,000 students and is an engine for innovation in southeastern Wisconsin.

The UWM Libraries—Golda Meir Library on the Milwaukee campus and two branches, UWM at Waukesha Library and UWM at Washington County Library—advance the campus mission by providing access to holdings of more than 5.4 million physical items, 200,000 e-books, and 142,000 digital serials.

The American Geographical Society Library (AGSL) is one of the premier collections of its kind in North America. Founded in the 1850s, the collection contains maps, atlases, books, periodicals, photos, and geographical data supporting inquiry into a variety of disciplines. Collections date from the 15th century and are worldwide in coverage.

The UWM Libraries value diversity in all of its forms, including who we are, how we think, and what we do. We strive to create a sense of belonging for all people, including those who have been historically underrepresented at UWM.

This position works collaboratively in a small team environment to support the mission and services of the UWM Libraries and the American Geographical Society Library.
