Are you an excellent public speaker and thoughtful library leader seeking an exciting new opportunity? The Rice Lake Library Board seeks an empathetic, community-minded Library Director with a vision for our library's future. The ideal candidate will commit to providing equitable library services; supervise, inspire, and evaluate RLPL staff; and build relationships with our whole community.
Located in the heart of downtown Rice Lake, the library facility was renovated and expanded in 2019. Rice Lake is the largest city in Barron County with a population of 8,500, with a service size expanding upwards of 20,000+ during the work week. It is the cultural, medical, and shopping hub for the region with much to offer in natural beauty and outdoor activities.
The RLPL prides itself on its progressive approach to community engagement and services. As a member of the MORE consortium, RLPL patrons have access to materials from more than 50 libraries. With support from the IFLS Library System, the RLPL team stays abreast of best practices in serving patrons of all ages.
The qualified candidate will have 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in library services and management. An MLS from an ALA accredited university is required and the candidate will be eligible for a grade 1 Library Certification.
