The North Shore Library, in Glendale, Wisconsin, is seeking a customer focused MLIS Librarian to work at the Adult Reference Desk. This part-time position works under the supervision of the Head of Adult Services. The main duties include providing friendly quality reference, reader’s advisory and technical service to patrons of all ages, cataloging and maintaining the magazine collection, teaching technology classes, providing programming assistance, performing collection development and creating library displays.
This position is 24 hours per week. The preferred schedule is M-F 1:00-5:00 and 9:30-5:00 every other Saturday. This position requires a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science. Prior experience working in a public library at the Reference Desk or other customer service experience is preferred. Beginning librarians and candidates nearing completion of their MLIS degree are encouraged to apply.
