For which library, institution, or organization are you currently employed? If you are retired, what was your former organization?
University of Wisconsin Milwaukee at Waukesha

How many year(s) have you been a member of Wisconsin Library Association?
18 (more or less)

What has been your favorite or most impactful function or event of WLA?
As an academic librarian, most definitely the WAAL Conference - I appreciate the opportunity to network with colleagues and friends across Wisconsin. As both a participant and attendee, I find the conference programs relevant and informative.

How has being a member of WLA impacted you or your career?
It has helped expose me to much of the interesting work done by colleagues across the state, including those from other types of libraries. Additionally, it has been a helpful networking source for me and my colleagues.

Do you have a library role model (in Wisconsin or elsewhere) that has provided you with inspiration or guidance? Please share a little bit about it.
I have always admired libraries who actively reinvent themselves to meet their users evolving needs. For many years, I've followed the efforts of my colleagues at UW Madison's College Library to see how they worked to meet the needs of both their users and more broadly the University as a whole through innovative space use as well as student-centered services and programs. Their presentations at WLA and WAAL were always well-attended and received because they were often out in front of the curve.

Do you have any advice for new WLA members?
Get involved early. If you don't know someone who is involved in and can help introduce you to WLA, consider participating in the WLA Mentorship Program.
