The North Shore Library is seeking an experienced Youth Services Librarian to serve as Head of Youth Services to lead our dedicated team of Youth Services librarians.
The library is located in Glendale, WI and serves approximately 25,000 residents from the communities of Bayside, Fox Point, Glendale and River Hills. The Library is planning a building project with ground breaking expected in the fall of 2022.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, creative, technology-minded and enthusiastic about being a part of an ever-changing environment. Other desirable talents include the ability to provide high quality, research-based, early literacy learning experiences for caregivers and children, from birth through teen. This experienced, forward-thinking librarian will promote a love of learning and reading and help foster future school success among the children of the North Shore Library Communities.
Requirements
• Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Youth Services Librarian
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children; planning, marketing and presenting youth services classes and events
• Preference given to those with supervisory and outreach experience
Schedule
This is a full time exempt position. The schedule includes one evening per week and rotating Sundays.
Wage
Salary range of $53,800 - $60,150. depending on experience.
