EVENTS

Volunteers Needed for the 2024 WAAL Virtual Conference Committee

On the heels of the 2023 successful (and international!) WAAL-TSS virtual conference, the 2024 WAAL Conference is going virtual again!   Mark your calendar for this event scheduled for Wednesday, August 7.   Once again, the format will be designed with an eye to accommodating busy schedules:

  • Shorter, "bite-sized" sessions
  • Lightning talks
  • Poster presentations
  • An online platform to interact with other attendees and presenters
  • Post-conference session recordings to view on your own time

We need your help to plan what we hope will be our most innovative and engaging conference ever!  We need 3-4 enthusiastic WLA members to help:

  • Identify a top-notch keynote speaker(s);
  • Identify innovative breakout sessions that will engage our target audience of academic librarians and library staff;
  • Create promotional materials and social media posts; and
  • Provide behind-the-scenes support during this virtual event (must be comfortable using Zoom).

More detailed volunteer position descriptions can be provided upon request.  You must be a WLA member in good standing to serve on the planning committee.  The time commitment involves attending regular committee meetings and, depending on your volunteer role, subcommittee meetings. Committee members will receive free event registration.

Volunteering for WLA events is a great way to meet new people, network, and gain hands-on professional experience to add to your CV.  Intrigued?  We want to hear from you!  Please contact WAAL Chair Sarah Bakken ([email protected]) or WLA Executive Director Laura Sauser ([email protected]) by March 20, 2024!
