The L.E. Phillips Memorial Public Library in downtown Eau Claire, Wisconsin is proud of its mission to promote lifelong learning, create collaborative spaces, and support open access to diverse materials and resources. The library is seeking a security monitor to maintain an environment that is safe and welcoming for our Library users and employees. The security monitor will respond to emergencies, perform general security duties, and document incidents. The security monitor will work closely with library staff to enforce the library’s policies.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and customer service skills, understand de-escalation techniques and have the ability to demonstrate compassion for our customers while remaining vigilant about policy enforcement. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply (especially those who speak HMoob (Hmong), Spanish, and other high-need languages in the Chippewa Valley).

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. The starting wage is $24.09 per hour. The proposed schedule includes primarily daytime hours, with occasional evening and weekend shifts when needed. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefit package which includes participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System.
