Position: Part-time Adult Reference Librarian at North Shore Library

The North Shore Library in Glendale, WI is seeking a vivacious and customer-focused Librarian to work at the Adult Reference Desk.
This is an ideal position for an experienced librarian who is looking for part-time or a recent graduate and/or new professional with little-to-no librarian experience. Candidates who are close to graduation will also be considered. You bring the enthusiasm – we will provide the training! We will teach you cataloging, programming, collection development, outreach, and more.
This position works under the supervision of the Head of Adult Services. The main duties include providing friendly quality reference, reader’s advisory and technical service to patrons of all ages, cataloging and maintaining the magazine collection, teaching technology classes, providing programming assistance, performing collection development and creating library displays.
Eligibility
This position requires a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or substantial coursework toward this degree. Prior experience working in a public library at the Reference Desk or other customer service experience is preferred.
Schedule and Wages
This position is 24 hours per week. The preferred schedule is M-F 1:00-5:00 and 9:30-5:00 every other Saturday. Starting salary is $20.10/hour.
