Subject :Assistant Director and Adult Services Manager - Pauline Haass Public Library (Sussex, WI)
The Pauline Haass Public Library is looking for an innovative, experienced, community-focused librarian to be our next Assistant Director and Manager of Adult Services. The ideal candidate will be excited to bring in new programming ideas, engage with the community, participate in long-range planning, and develop staff to provide excellent library services to the growing Sussex community. Candidates must have a master's degree from an ALA accredited program and at least 3 years public library experience; supervisory experience is a plus. A strong customer service ethic and excellent communication skills are a must. Candidates should have strong decision-making skills, a sense of vision, enthusiasm, and the desire to anticipate our customers’ changing wants and needs as we move into the future. This full-time position is open due to the Assistant Director’s promotion to Director.
The Assistant Director supports and monitors daily operations of the library and assumes the duties of the Director in the Director’s absence. This person will also work as requested by the Director on major publicity, projects and programming efforts. Responsibilities as the Adult Services Manager include management and delivery of reference and readers' advisory services, materials selection and maintenance of the adult collection, and direction and execution of adult programming. Specific duties will also include staff supervision and training, scheduling, budgeting, marketing, space planning, community outreach, and long range planning.
The salary range for this full-time, exempt position is $55,000-60,000 DOE with a competitive benefits package. Preference will be given to applications received by or on Monday, April 22.
