The Winding Rivers Library System is currently seeking applicants for a 30 hour per week copy cataloger position to serve our 34 member libraries and their communities in western Wisconsin. The Winding Rivers Library System, situated in the incomparable Driftless Area, serves nearly 280,000 individuals and circulates roughly 2.2 million items per year.

This position reports to the ILS/ILL Consultant. Responsibilities include: locating applicable bibliographic records, applying cataloging standards and system best practices to these records, and loading them into our integrated library system. Additional duties include aiding in the maintenance of existing catalog records and authorities, providing training to library system members, and offering prompt, timely, and courteous customer service to Winding Rivers members and staff.

Preference will be given applicants with some coursework in library studies or documented library experience and an interest in library technical services, including experience with MARC records and related cataloging standards. A strong customer service ethic, excellent attention to detail, and superb sense of organization are essential for this position. Applicants must be flexible and adaptable as cataloging standards, practices, and procedures are constantly evolving.

The cataloging support staff member will work among our six library and IT professionals and four delivery staff members from our office at 980 West Highway 16, Suite 1, in West Salem, Wisconsin. Pay ranges from $18.75 to $21 commensurate with education or experience. Prorated benefits will also be provided.

A detailed job description may be found at wrlsweb.org.

A cover letter, resume, and list of at least three references must be received by Kristen Anderson, Director ([email protected]), no later than the close of business on May 17th, 2019.
