The Oak Creek Public Library in Oak Creek, WI is seeking a full-time reference librarian to be part of our multi-person team responsible for providing library services to patrons of all ages both in and outside of the Library. This position provides excellent customer service to patrons, assists patrons and staff in meeting their reference and information needs, plans and conducts library programs, promotes library services to the community, manages assigned library collections, participates in the day-to-day operations of the library, and administers other library services as assigned. The position will serve patrons of all ages, both youth and adults. This position works with a high degree of independence under the general supervision of the Assistant Library Director.

The successful candidate will provide stellar customer service, possess a robust service orientation and commitment to library users’ needs, and possess critical thinking skills, excellent interpersonal, communication skills and a strong desire to explore new ways to provide excellent library service to the Oak Creek community.
The Oak Creek Public Library is a part of the Milwaukee County Federated Library System. It is located in one of the fastest growing and most vibrant communities in Southeastern Wisconsin, right in the heart of Drexel Town Square. The current library was constructed in 2015 and includes state-of-the-art technology and ample spaces for programming opportunities. Annually, the library serves 200,000 visitors and circulates 325,000 items.
