The Cedarburg Public Library (CPL) has an opening for a professional individual to fill the position of Head of Youth Services at our beautiful new library that opened on July of 2014. Focus is on oversight and maintenance of all library services related to children through teens. This position is supported by 3 part-time Youth Services Associates that work a combination equaling approximately 60 hours a week. The Children’s department is a beautiful and functional space that offers plenty of work room area for for planning and program preparation. The staff of CPL is a wonderful group of professional minded people who work together to make the library a community gem and are willing to try new programs and services that appeal to users and nonusers alike. We are seeking a candidate that shows enthusiasm for library work and has the needed child centered traits of empathy, care and understanding of the growing years leading to child development. The Library Board is committed to professional development of the librarians and supports conference attendance and other continuing education.
The new library is 25,500 square feet and serves a municipal population of 11,500. We are a member of the Monarch Library System and serve all residents in the 4 county system of Ozaukee, Washington, Sheboygan and Dodge counties. The Cedarburg community is located 20 miles north of Milwaukee and has been noted as one of the best small communities to live in for quality of life while being close distance to all the large city amenities.
