Frances L. Simek Memorial Library (Medford, Wisconsin) is seeking an enthusiastic leader who will bring innovative ideas, outstanding management skills, passion for the librarys mission, and a willingness to be involved in community activities. The director serves as chief executive officer of the library and manages the facility, a staff of 13 full- and part-time employees, the librarys finances, and all aspects of operations.


The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively, proven leadership skills, and a positive work ethic.


Serving over 14,000 area residents, the library is located in the city of Medford. Medford offers an outstanding quality of life, a strong sense of community, and is located in north central Wisconsin. The Library is a member of the Wisconsin Valley Library Service and the V-Cat automation consortium. The library circulates more than 137,000 items each year and has an annual budget of $380,000.


Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree to meet State of Wisconsin Grade II Public Library certification. Library administration and technology experience is preferred.


Salary/Pay Range: Salary based on experience and certification. Full-time benefits include: health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, paid vacation/sick/holiday/bereavement/jury duty and the city’s contribution to the Wisconsin Retirement System.
