This 25 hour/week, part-time position assists in the operation of the library's Main Desk areas: circulation, interlibrary loan, supervising student workers, and gathering Information Services statistics. Weekly schedule is four to five days a week including Fridays and Saturdays with some flexibility for exact shift times. Benefits include free tuition at Viterbo and accrued sick and vacation time at a part-time rate.
Reports To: Information Services Manager
Responsibilities:
Supervision
- Assists in the hiring, training, and supervision of student employees.
- Oversees student schedule and student project management.
- Information Services department duties
- Promotes an open, welcoming, and cooperative environment through interactions with Viterbo students, staff, and faculty via phone, email, and in-person at the main desk.
- Assists with processing interlibrary loan requests from both the Viterbo community and other libraries.
- Compiles monthly statistics.
- Assists the Evening Supervisor with Reserves processing.
- Library department duties
- Assists with the maintenance of the library through work orders, restocking and ordering of supplies, and various upkeep.
- May open or close the library as needed.
- Assists with overdue and lost item processing.
- Opportunities available to participate in library and campus-wide projects with other employees.
Qualifications: Associates degree or higher; strong customer service skills; strong communication skills, experience with supervision or task management for others; detail-oriented; ability to work both independently and cooperatively; Microsoft Office proficiency and ability to effectively utilize multiple software applications.
