The North Shore Library is looking for a Youth Services Librarian who is outgoing, creative, technology-minded and enthusiastic about serving youth in an ever-changing environment.
This position works under the supervision of the Head of Youth Services. Main duties include developing and implementing a wide variety of children’s, teen, and family programs, organizing and maintaining children’s collections, and the delivery of reference and reader’s advisory services to patrons of all ages. Programs are currently all virtual but future programs may be in-person or a combination of both.
Hours
This position is 20 hours per week and includes one evening and every fourth Saturday. Flexibility in scheduling is occasionally needed for program coverage.
Requirements
MLIS degree or student working toward this degree who is close to graduation. Experience working with children is preferred.
Wage
Salary: $23.19-$25.44 per hour depending on experience.
