Menomonee Falls Public Library is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Youth Services Manager to join our team! The Youth Services Manager is a key member of the Library’s leadership team and is responsible for directing staff serving infants, children, teens, and their caregivers, while also conducting programming, performing collection development, and more.
This position has the responsibility of recommending, designing, directing, supervising, and evaluating youth services programs, offerings, resources, and staff in accordance with the Library’s mission, strategic plan, goals, and objectives.

The Youth Services Manager position requires the use of professional skill, initiative, and independent judgment and will collaborate closely with employees and Library leadership in order to develop a collaborative and resilient team through active management and promotion of team performance. The Youth Services Manager will not only oversee the department but also play a key role in collection development, developing and conducting programming for children, and assisting patrons. The perfect person for the job will be able to transition seamlessly from hosting a toddler storytime or baby lapsit to conducting annual performance reviews in a fast-paced and exciting work environment.
As a Manager, this position serves as a supervisor on duty for the Library and works at least one evening per week as building supervisor, rotating Saturdays, and daytime hours as scheduled.

Must have a Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution, two or more years of experience as a youth services librarian serving children and/or teens, and experience in a management or supervisory role with knowledge of delegation, scheduling, performance evaluations, and building and maintaining morale.
