Research and Instructional Services Librarian
Marquette University Raynor Memorial Libraries seeks applicants for an innovative and collaborative Research and Instructional Services Librarian. The successful candidate will provide user-centered services in support of teaching, research, and scholarship for departments in the sciences and health sciences. This position reports to the Head of Research and Instructional Services.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as subject liaison librarian to the Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, Medical Lab Sciences, Exercise Science, Physician Assistant Studies, Occupational Therapy, Biology, and Chemistry departments.
• Select, manage, and evaluate information resources that support the curricular and research needs of the faculty and students of assigned departments.
• Develop strong collaborative relationships with faculty and serve as a resource for research and teaching support.
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver library instruction that is inclusive and incorporates active learning and assessment.
• Maintain regular communication with the departments about library-related news and developments of interest to the faculty and students.
• Keep abreast of trends and developments in information resources, scholarly communication, and digital scholarship.
• Assist faculty with federal funding agencies’ policies requiring open access to publications and digital research data.
• Provide in-person and virtual research support.
• Contribute to and learn from the profession through such avenues as local, state, and national professional organizations, presentations, and publications.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• MLS from an ALA accredited institution.
• Understanding of the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education and ability to teach library sessions
• Experience with disciplinary databases such as PubMed and Web of Science.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.
• Strong commitment to patron service and support.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work with colleagues in collaborative and team environments as well as independently.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and an ability to work with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
• Commitment to professional development.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• College course work or experience in a health or science field appropriate to the position.
• Experience developing and delivering instruction.
• Familiarity with publication trends and scholarly publishing issues, including open access to publications and research data.
• Experience with assessment tools and techniques.
• Demonstrated liaison experience in an academic library setting.
• Collection management experience.



Appointment at Assistant Librarian rank. Salary is $50,000 - $51,500, depending on experience.
A strong record of job performance, professional growth, and service is required for reappointment and promotion in rank.
