The Rice Lake Public Library is accepting applications for the full-time Public Services Director. Under the supervision of the Library Director this position directs the day-to-day operation and service functions of the library. Oversees youth and public services including programming primarily for children and families. Responsible for collection development for young patrons in a variety of formats. Acts as a community liaison and stays current with trends in library planning and services. Directly supervises 3-5 FTE employees. In the absence of the Library Director assumes responsibility for staff and the building.
Located in the heart of downtown Rice Lake, the library facility was renovated and expanded in 2019. Rice Lake is the largest city in Barron County with a population of 8,500, with a service size expanding upwards of 20,000+ during the work week. It is the cultural, medical, and shopping hub for the region with much to offer in natural beauty and outdoor activities.
Qualifications: At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in library services and management and an MLS from an ALA accredited university or equivalent experience is required.
Compensation: The salary range is $60,000-$70,000, depending on qualifications, and includes benefits. The work schedule includes evenings and weekends.
