The Oregon School District is looking for two Library Media Specialists. One Library Media Specialist will serve Brooklyn Elementary School for grades K-4. The other Library Media Specialist will serve Netherwood Knoll Elementary School (.50 FTE) and Prairie View Elementary School (.50 FTE) for the 2023-24 school year. Netherwood and Prairie View are located next to each other. Starting with the 2024-25 school year, the District has reallocated funding, so this person will serve only one of those elementary schools, and the District will be seeking an additional Library Media Specialist for K-4.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
- Creating a learning environment that encourages reading and information technology literacy
- Leading the effective use of the current information media of the day- Using effective techniques in communication and instructional technology to foster active inquiry and collaboration
- Adapting to and implement educational change initiatives
- Experience with literacy and technology for students in grades K-4
- Establishing and communicate high academic expectations with regard to state and local curriculum objectives
- Evaluating and maintaining materials for the general and professional collections
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications: MA in Library and Information Studies
This candidate must possess or be able and willing to obtain a Wisconsin license as a Library Media Specialist.
