How many year(s) have you been a member of Wisconsin Library Association?
Just over 1 year.
What has been your favorite or most impactful function or event of WLA?
I really wanted to get involved after I attended my first WAAL conference in 2022.
How has being a member of WLA impacted you or your career?
Being early career, I am just starting to make connections with other librarians and library personnel around the state. I was recently appointed to the WLA Board as the WAAL representative, which is a really exciting opportunity for me to connect with people from all different types of libraries.
Do you have a library role model (in Wisconsin or elsewhere) that has provided you with inspiration or guidance? Please share a little bit about it.
I honestly look up to all of my library colleagues at UWGB and feel that I have much to learn from every one of them. My first supervisor was Joan Robb, who has since retired, which was much deserved! She allowed me to dip my toes into all the different areas of librarianship, like instruction and collection development, to find what I felt most passionately about. She then helped me get into the OER team, which is something I did not know much about at the time, but have since become very passionate about. I was very fortunate to be guided by her in my first professional librarian job, even if it was only for a few months.
